1. Quiet Your Heart
Before you pray together as a family set a time for 1 to 5 minutes and practice being quiet and still. You may find it helpful to practice
five-fingered breathing. Have everyone trace their hand with their opposite finger slowly starting with the pinky. Breathe in as you trace up each finger and out as you trace down each finger until you’ve traced all five. Ask God to quiet your hearts and thoughts.
2. Pray the Lord's Prayer
Pray the prayer Jesus gave us: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.” Matthew 6:9-13
3. Pray for Your Home
As a family, take turns sharing prayer requests and praying for one another. Make sure everyone gets a chance to share and a chance to pray.
4. Pray for Church and Community
Have each family member choose an individual (a friend, teacher from school, neighbor, small group leader or pastor from church) to pray for by name. Take turns allowing each family member to pray for the person they chose.
5. Thank Him and Say "Amen"
Everyone share three things you are thankful for, and then thank God for them. Once everyone has shared and prayed, say “Amen” together.
