Amplify is a faith-stretching journey to raise $150,000 in a miracle offering on October 5 to replace failing components in our sound system and sanctuary.

The primary purpose of the church has always been to glorify and worship Jesus. Each week, we gather as a community of worshiping priests, bringing our praise before Him in this sacred space. Just as God’s people once brought their offerings to build the tabernacle—and later, the temple—we too are called to invest in the place where we meet with Him.

1 Chronicles 29:14, 16
But who am I, and who are my people, that we could give anything to you? Everything we have has come from you, and we give you only what you have already given us!... O Lord our God, even these materials that we have gathered to build a Temple to honor your holy name come from you! It all belongs to you!
A sound system allows us to bring our congregation, musicians and singers together to offer God our worship. It’s an important tool. But after 15 years, our speakers are beginning to fail.

In the 21st century, sound equipment, technology, and the skilled people who operate them help us fulfill our primary calling as worshippers.

This fall we’re coming together in a special six-week season of generosity to raise $150,000 above our tithe to replace some key components of our sound system and make some significant repairs to our HVAC system.

GOAL #1: 100% Fully Engage

That is why we are boldly asking every household at ALC to step out in faith together to pursue what God has for us. We want all of us to pray fervently, commit fully, cheer loudly, and give generously. If everyone does 100% of what God asks them to do, we will all grow as disciples and accomplish everything God has for us. 1 Chronicles 29:6 “…all gave willingly.”

GOAL #2: $150,000

We are encouraging everyone to seek God about how He would have you be involved. We are asking God to grow people in generosity and fund the urgent need in our Happy Valley sanctuary. God has transformed so many lives through that space, and we are trusting Him for so much more!

What’s our goal for Amplify?
Our goals are two-fold. First, 100% participation in this sacrificial journey, above and beyond current giving. Our second goal is to see $150,000 in a miracle offering on October 5.
When will the projects be finished?
We’re already underway. Engineering the room and beginning to work with the right people to install the right system for our room is happening. However, getting the equipment here and installed takes 6-9 months. We are trusting our current system will function (though we have some backup plans if it doesn’t) and are working toward installing the new system in early 2026.
Why is this so important?
Our church has continued to grow in what it means to be a community that:
  1. Worships & glorifies God
  2. Makes disciples, and
  3. Reaches the lost.
Gathering in sacred space to worship and learn together is an important pursuit that helps us to accomplish our mission of living out God’s Story the way Jesus showed us. Instruments, microphones, screens, sound systems, chairs, and AC units are tools that help us. Our current sound system and several HVAC units have reached the end of their life, and if we don’t act, it will mean a lot of hoarse voices on a Sunday afternoon. Frankly, we need the sound system to amplify the message and help us accomplish our mission.
How does this offering affect current giving?
Our guiding principles are derived from giving campaigns found in the Bible. One of those principles is giving to projects by “over and above” current giving. Scripturally, tithing is meant to cover the life and ministry of the church. There was an “over and above” offering whenever a new project or building was needed. Thus, a miracle offering like Amplify is a special offering and shouldn’t affect our current ministry giving. Our Amplify offering means stepping into radical faith, extreme generosity, and sacrificial giving that is “over and above.”
What about giving to under-resourced and missions?
The unanimous and unwavering commitment of our leadership team is to continuously give to missions, community outreach, and the under-resourced. Because Amplify is a sacrificial and faith-based commitment beyond our tithe, we do not anticipate wavering from our current budgets and giving goals.
So specifically, what do you need me to do?
Glad you asked! You should feel no pressure, stress, manipulation, coercion, or worry throughout this journey. We are leaning heavily on the Holy Spirit to guide our entire church body through the days ahead. We want you to: 1) Pray, “God, what do you want to do through me and my family?” 2) Position yourself to be available and willing to do what God asks you to do. 3) Give when it’s time – in obedience to what God tells you to do!
